Product Description

Diaphragm deluge valve is a hydraulically actuated, quick-opening control valve specifically engineered for fire protection systems, serving as a critical component in deluge, water curtain, water mist, and foam-water fire suppression applications. Constructed primarily from ductile iron or stainless steel for exceptional corrosion resistance and structural durability, it features a robust diaphragm assembly that segregates the inlet chamber (connected to the pressurized water supply), outlet chamber (linked to downstream open sprinklers/nozzles), and control priming chamber, forming a normally closed, pressure-balanced sealing structure.

Under standby operating conditions, pressurized water from the main supply line is fed into the control chamber via a bypass trim system, creating equal pressure on both sides of the flexible diaphragm. This balanced pressure force firmly holds the diaphragm against the valve seat, blocking the water supply and maintaining the downstream piping in an unpressurized (dry) state, effectively preventing accidental water discharge and system leakage. When a fire is detected, the fire alarm control system triggers actuation devices such as solenoid valves, manual release buttons, or pneumatic/thermal actuators to rapidly drain the pressurized water from the control chamber, instantly breaking the pressure balance. The higher inlet water supply pressure then pushes the diaphragm upward quickly, fully opening the valve to allow large-volume water or foam solution to flow into the downstream piping network and discharge simultaneously through all open sprinklers or nozzles in the protected area, achieving rapid, large-scale fire extinguishing and cooling.

Designed to comply with international fire protection standards, this valve boasts a fast response time (typically opening within 5 seconds), stable pressure regulation, and reliable sealing performance. It is equipped with integrated supervisory alarm devices and pressure switches to monitor system status in real time, sending out fault alerts for abnormal conditions like low control chamber pressure or valve tampering. With a wide operating pressure range (usually 0.6-1.6 MPa) and multiple connection specifications (DN50-DN250), it is widely deployed in high-hazard fire scenarios including power transformer rooms, chemical storage facilities, aircraft hangars, flammable liquid warehouses, and industrial conveyor systems, providing efficient and dependable automatic fire suppression for large-area and high-risk fire protection zones.
